UPON ARRIVAL
Located 40 minutes away from Velana International Airport, lays the charming island of Kandooma, home to the beautiful Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives by IHG Hotels and Resorts.
The resort is quite conveniently located, as you won’t need to book an additional flight from Male. Simply take a speedboat transfer and you’ll be there in no time. And if you are lucky, you might be able to spot some dolphins on your way to the resort.
Upon arrival you’ll be greeted with cold bottled-water and scented towels and later taken to your room on a golf buggy, fun times!
THE ROOMS
We had the pleasure of staying at 2 of the most beautiful rooms the resort offers: the Overwater villa and the Overwater pavilion.
Designed with white-washed timber floors and a really chic surf vibe, these villas come equipped with everything you need: air conditioning, a private bathroom with outdoor shower and bathtub, cable/satellite TV, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi, telephone, minibar, coffeemaker, and a safe. But the best part is that it has direct access to an overwater hammock that faces the ocean!

DINING OPTIONS
You will be able to choose from a range of simply delicious options. Fresh local seafood is served at The Kitchen Restaurant and Asian and western meals at Kandooma Café. Enjoy indoor and outdoor sitting with live music at sunset.
And if you are feeling fancy, why not a cocktail at the Sunset Deck or a drinks and canapés at the Bokkuraa Pool Bar?

SURFING AT THE HOLIDAY INN
The resort has become one of the most popular places amongst surfers from all over the world as it has direct access to the legendary Kandooma Right, located right in front of the resort. Arguably, one of the best breaks in the Maldives.
The resort works in partnership with Perfect Wave Travel offering tailored surf experiences for both experienced surfers and beginners, during their peak season from April to October.

The location was perfect, only 40 minutes away from Male but secluded enough to feel the remote island vibes.
