An exquisitely restored traditional Sri Lankan property located in a serene village just a minute inland from the Galle Matara road.
The furnishings are both traditional and contemporary with significant attention paid to craftsmanship, design and finishes.
There are six rooms in total with the three deluxe rooms featuring spacious living areas, outdoor showers, walk-in closets and private outdoor patios.
OUR ROOM
We styed in the suit, both beautiful and spacious. This room is located in the upper floor, spanning from one end to the other of the property. The King-sized canopy bed follows, and a gorgeous wooden lattice separates the bed space from the dressing and washroom space, with a full-length mirror and two large closets. The suite’s indoor – outdoor washroom includes HIS and HER sinks, a large bathtub, and a rainfall shower surrounded by tropical plants. The room is decorated in warm colors and wooden accents.

CANTALOUPE AQUA
This Unique Hotel and Beach Club unashamedly surveys an idyllic ocean scene and is the first affordable boutique hotel along this sultry stretch of Galle coastline.
Neighboured by private villas and sandy beaches stretching hazily into the distance, AQUA is private, trendy and chic. Of the 13 well-appointed rooms and all 13 have stunning views of the beach through floor-to-ceiling glass windows and private furnished balconies. AQUA also features two contemporary suites, which come with a host of added luxuries including private jacuzzis.
OUR ROOM
We stayed in AQUA ZEN: the foyer area has ample lounge space (that can comfortably seat 6 guests) with beautiful designer couches, WIFI Internet access, 40 inch LCD screen TV, cable. With tempered glass balconies framing the best of the south coast sunsets-it is tranquillity in its most fashionable state. The compromise made in designing this room is the slightly undersized bathroom, which arose due to building constraints. However in our and our guest’s opinion this is more than compensated with its unique layout and design.
AQUA is also home to Coconut – a fusion restaurant promoting innovative Sri Lankan and Thai cuisine – and the famous Playground Beach Bar, with its inspiring cocktail menu and diverse wine list.
